The Special Olympics Nevada Schools Partnership Program is a unique education program in K-12 schools. It unifies students with and without disabilities through sports and Whole-School Involvement activities that provide them with the knowledge, experience, and skills necessary to create and sustain school communities that promote inclusion, acceptance, and respect for ALL students.

To provide athletic opportunities to school-age children with intellectual disabilities; to foster a better understanding amongst their non-disabled peers; and to instill in all students the confidence needed to succeed in life.

How It Works

The Special Olympics Schools Partnership Program utilizes its sports and education programs to activate young people in order to promote school communities where all young people are agents of change – fostering respect, dignity and advocacy for people with intellectual disabilities.  What develops is a positive school climate with a safe and nurturing learning environment for ALL students.

We continue to expand our reach and the Schools Partnership Program through a variety of unified activities. If you are interested in creating a more inclusive climate at your school, in which students become more open to and accepting of differences, please contact us at

What we do for schools

Offering Special Olympics sports during the school days provides an opportunity to give special education students the chance to experience sports and be part of a team.  General education students are engaged by becoming coaches, mentors and fans in the stands.
