South Lake Tahoe Polar Plunge is Postponed

Special Olympics Nevada has made the difficult decision to postpone the South Lake Tahoe Polar Plunge until a later date due to concerns surrounding the spread of the coronavirus and the illness that it causes, COVID-19.  We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates on a potential future date when possible. If you have made travel plans to attend the South Lake Tahoe Polar Plunge, please adjust accordingly.

Your health and safety are our top priorities. Due to the evolving situation and considering the advice of Special Olympics, Inc., and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), we have also canceled all Special Olympics competitions, practices, Healthy Athletes, and events through March 31, 2020. These decisions were made out of concern for the best interests of our athletes, families, volunteers, and the Polar Plunge participants.

We greatly appreciate your support of Special Olympics and your commitment to the South Lake Tahoe Polar Plunge. The funds you raise will positively impact the lives of Special Olympics athletes, both on and off the field. We apologize that you will not get to experience the Polar Plunge on March 28, 2020, and are disappointed for all involved; please know that you have made a difference!

Registered Plungers will receive additional information regarding your earned incentives, shortly. Please email any questions to plunge@sonv.org.
