Special Olympics has worked to improve the lives of thousands of Nevada athletes through its year-round sports training and competition. Special Olympics Nevada is currently serving three percent of the population of individuals with developmental disabilities

As Special Olympics does not charge its athletes to train and compete in its activities, it becomes a challenge to provide every person with developmental disabilities a chance to benefit from Special Olympics. There are a number of ways you can help make this happen. Donations can be made through gifts of cash, stock, or estate planning.

Cash Donation
Help inspire greatness in a Special Olympic athlete's life by making a cash donation. Click
here to donate online.

Stock Donation
Your gift of stock can provide a simple, tax free opportunity for you to support Special Olympics. Using the
Stock Donation form, simply fill out the name of stock and number of shares to be donated, and your broker can follow the instructions to wire the shares to Special Olympics account.

Planned Giving
Making charitable contributions is an art - a creative process that adapts to the changing needs and wishes of the donor. Planned giving enables a donor to arrange charitable contributions in ways that maximize his or her personal objectives while minimizing after-tax cost.

Depending on the assets and the gift arrangement selected, a donor can expect to obtain some or all of the following benefits:
  • Fulfill philanthropic goals
  • Reduce income tax through a deduction for the gift
  • Avoid capital gain tax on gifts of long-term appreciated property
  • Retain a stream of payments for life for the donor and other beneficiaries
  • Increase disposable income
  • Eliminate federal estate tax on property passing to charity upon donor's death
  • Reduce cost and time in estate settlement
