OVERVIEW Who: 44 teams (600 coaches and athletes) representing five levels of tournament play 36 athletes participating in the Individual Skills Contest When: April 5-6, 2003 Where: SONC East Bay Region Berkeley, CA - Facilities:      Berkeley High School      University of California at Berkeley Lodging: Berkeley, CA - Radisson Hotel Emmeryville, CA - Holiday Inn Family Lodging: Four Points Sheraton 1603 Powell St. Emeryville LOGISTICS Awards: Sunday, April 6 at each site. Awards will be given as each medal round games is completed. Hotel Check in/Check out: Check-in time is 4:00pm and check out time is 11:00am. If you will require storage of luggage, please inquire at the front desk upon check-in, but it is recommended that after check out all luggage be stored in area vehicles, as teams will be departing directly from venues. Entertainment (Saturday night): DJ at University of California at Berkeley. Housing: Rooms will be provided on Friday night for any area whose travel distance is more that 90 miles from Berkeley. Athletes will be housed 3 to a room. If your Area requires additional housing, your Area will be responsible for the cost. Special Olympics Nevada will only be paying for room and tax. Any additional room charges are the responsibility of the individual or Area. Family Housing Family Housing has been secured at Four Points Sheraton at a rate of $69.00 a night per room. Rate includes a 50% discount on breakfast and a drink ticket for each person in the family each night of your stay. Located about 5 miles from the competitions sites, it is an excellent location and will be the site of the Family Reception that will take place on Saturday, April 5. Family Reception Special Olympics Nevada will be hosting a Family Reception at the Basketball Championships that take place the weekend of April 4th in Berkeley. The reception will be held on Saturday, April 5th, at the Four Points Sheraton, located at 1603 Powell Street in Emeryville. The reception is completely free for all family members. Please note, athletes and coaches will have their own festivities and will not be attending this reception.
