Law Enforcement Torch Run

The Law Enforcement Torch Run kicked off on June 5, 2008 in the Garden at the State Governor’s Mansion in Carson City. On Friday, June 6th, the "Flame of Hope" passed under the world famous Reno sign during the Final Leg before the Guardians of the Flame made their grand entrance into Opening Ceremonies at the Reno Ballroom to light the Special Olympics cauldron. The weekend long competition was the culmination of our spring sports with approximately 250 Special Olympics athletes from throughout Nevada competing in Aquatics, and Track & Field.  Law Enforcement personnel participated in a variety of ways from high fiving athletes during the Parade of Athletes to presenting medals at the different competition venues.

Upcoming EVEnts

Our Law Enforcement personnel host fundraising events all year round to raise money for Special Olympics Nevada.

Tip-a-Cops® at local restaurants, Golf Tournaments, and Truck Convoys are just a few of the ways they raise funds. Check out our Torch Run events to find out how you can support our Law Enforcement's fundraising efforts. Events are added all year long, so check back often!
